Since Nessa Barrett broke into the music industry with her debut single “Pain,” in July of 2020, she has graced us with some beautifully sombre songs and kept us on our toes.
From the likes of the hit “La di die,” featuring TikTok star and her very own ex Jaden Hossler, to the likes of the spiritually charged single “American Jesus,” Nessa has distinguished herself from the crowd with her melancholic lyrics and unique voice.
She has amassed a staggering 6.3 million followers on instagram alone and many of her fans fill her comments with questions and probe her to release more music.
Thankfully for those who do probe, Nessa has recently announced the release of her first single on her new album “Aftercare.” The new single is called “Passenger Princess,” and is set to be released on the 26th of July.
On an instagram post that was uploaded on the 2nd of July, Nessa teased the single with a faceless photo of herself wearing black bedazzled gloves and the capitalised words “Passenger Princess,” on them. The caption of the post read “PASSENGER PRINCESS OUT 7/26. FIRST SINGLE OFF OF MY SECOND ALBUM, AFTERCARE. I LOVE YOU.”
Subsequent posts have shown Nessa wearing the same gloves and sporting pink hair as a way of teasing the release. Just 19 hours ago, she posed with the same exact look on her instagram and reminded us that “Passenger Princess,” is to be released in one week via the caption.
The song list of the upcoming album “Aftercare,” is yet to be announced and the only single we know for certain is “Passenger Princess.” Fans are still eagerly awaiting news of what’s to follow and popular music website “Genius,” has only left us with a speculated tracklist. The songs the website believes to be on the album are “Babydoll,” “Passenger Princess,” “Pornstar,” “Pretty Young Thing,” and “Maneater.” However, as eagle-eyed fans have pointed out, Nessa has already denied that “Pretty Young Thing,” is on the tracklist. I guess we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled for news from Nessa herself!
